Cementos Molins buys 65 per cent of  Sotacib for EUR86m

Cementos Molins has acquired 65 per cent of Tunisia’s Sotacib for EUR86m (US$125.8m), according to Spanish daily Cinco Dias. 
 
Sotacib has an annual production capacity of 350,000t of white cement in its Feriana plant.  
 
The company exports to Algeria, Libya and France and is currently constructing a second production line which will double its production from the first quarter of 2009.  
 
Sotacib has a project with the necessary authorisations for the construction of a grey cement plant in Kairouan. The plant will have a capacity to produce one million metric tonnes of grey cement and is expected to be opened in the middle of 2010.
