Minghong Group Corporation Ltd, Zhuhai, has concluded arrangements to  establish  a state-of-the-art cement factory in  the Enugu State.

Already,  the Enugu State Government  has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the company  for the establishment of the factory at Amechi Idodo in Nkanu East Local Government Area of the state.

At the signing ceremony,  which was  witnessed by members of  the  State Executive Council and representatives of  Amechi Idodo,  Governor Sullivan Chime said the  factory would go a long way in boosting the state’s economy.

Describing  the investment as a major step towards the realisation of one of his administration’s four-point agenda to industrialise Enugu State, Chime said the industry  would create jobs. He said: "Establishment of the cement factory is in line with the present government’s policy to bring development to Enugu State. We are today taking a major step towards realising that goal. I am sure the youths and our people will be employed, while the economy of the state will be positively affected,” he said.

Ming  said his company would abide by the terms of the agreement, adding that its successful take-off  would  open up avenues for more Chinese investments  in the state.
