Grasim plans cement grinding plant in Punjab, India

Aditya Birla Group Company  Grasim Industries today said it plans to set up a new cement grinding plant in Punjab with an investment of Rs 150-200 crore within a year, besides ramping up the capacity of its existing plant in the state.  
 
"We have not finalised the location as yet for setting up a new grinding plant in Punjab, but we will set up a new plant here which will have a capacity of 1.2-1.3Mta and it may take six months to one year,"  Grasim Industries Ltd Joint Executive President (Marketing) Sanjay Mathur said here today.  
 
The company has a grinding plant in Bathinda whose capacity is being raised from 1.1Mt to 1.4Mta.  
 
He said the new plant in Punjab would be in addition to the 15Mt nationwide capacity expansion plans of the company.  
 
The company had already announced to invest Rs 8000 crore on ramping up its cement capacity to 46Mt from the present 31Mt by 2008-09.
