The price of cement in most retail outlets has dropped by 7,000 Kwacha.

A check by ZNBC News in some outlets in the Zambian capital, Lusaka, found a 50kg bag of Mphamvu cement selling at 60,000 kwacha from the previous 67,000 Kwacha.

The Price of PPC cement is selling at 55,000 kwacha from the previous 65,000 kwacha.

Chilanga Cement Corporate Affairs Manager, Eugene Chungu said stability in the flow of cement has been attributed to re-opening of its Ndola plant which underwent rehabilitation.

Mr. Chungu said the plant has been producing enough cement to satisfy the retail and wholesale market.

Recently, Zambia faced a cement shortage resulting in many retailers selling the commodity at as high as 70,000 kwacha per bag.
