Chinese company starts building Batis Cement Factory

A Chinese company has started building the Batis Cement Factory at cost over $240 million, which is one of the largest private sector investments in the province.

Nasser al-Fadhli, the general secretary of the local council in Abyan, and Deputy Governor Mohammed al-Dahbali, paid a visit to the site to inspect progress.

The project’s supervisors gave the two officials a detailed account of the stages of the project, which will cover an area of 800 square km with a production capacity of 1Mta. The factory’s equipment is due in the next few days.

The two officials said they would ensure that the governorate administrators would provide all the facilities required to carry out investment projects in the province.
