Saudi Southern Province Cement launches third cement plant

Saudi cement producer Southern Province Cement (SPC) has launched its third cement plant, board chairman, Prince Khalid al-Turki bin Turki, was quoted saying.
 
The facility is located on the southern Red Sea coast. Initially, the plant will produce clinker and will launch cement production in the last quarter of 2007.  
 
The plant’s daily output is 5000t of clinker bringing SPC’s total clinker output to 18,000t.  
 
Besides the newly-launched plant, SPC operates two other cement plants. These are in Aseer and Jazan, both in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
