"In September, we will see advances in the question regarding construction of a cement plant in Azerbaijan. To date, raw cement fields in the country have been studied," Anar Ahundov, executive director for the Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC), has said.  
 
“We still don’t know where the plant will be built,” he said, adding, proposals on the issue shall be presented by representatives at  Lafarge. "It is not ruled out that it will be built in Tovuz Region.  
 
Lafarge is likely to build a second cement plant with a capacity of 1Mta. The project value is estimated at around EUR100-150m.
