Boral establishes Oklahoma aggregates presence

Boral has acquired Schwartz Readymix and Davis Arbuckle Materials, both of Oklahoma City for a total of US$80m.  The operations consist of 18 batching plants with an annual production of 0.57m m³ and a fleet of over 160 lorry-mixers as well as a limestone quarry and five sand pits with an annual production of 1.45m tonnes (1.6m short tons).  Boral is a recent entrant into the US aggregates market, where it made its first acquisition, in Denver, in 2004.  Including the latest deal, Boral now generates an annual

EBITDA in the region of Aus$65m (41m) in the United States.
