Romanian Carpatcement Holding, a unit of HeidelbergCement, said its cement sales rose 40 per cent YoY in the first half of 2007, on strong growth of the local construction sector.  
 
The company expects its turnover to grow by 20 per cent on the year in 2007, CEO Mihai Rohan said.  
 
Carpatcement Holding comprises a cement producing division Carpatcement, concrete producer Carpat Beton and Carpat Agregate, producing aggregates.  
 
The Romanian cement market, with main players also including the local units of Holcim and Lafarge, is seen to grow by between 12 and 15 per cent over the next five years.
