Azerbaijan produced 771,000t of cement during the first half of 2007, with a 2.9% increase from the first half of 2006. The main cement producer is Garadagh Cement. This plant meets 50% of the local cement demand (Garadag Cement is capable of producing 1 to 1.4Mta of cement), while the rest is imported.
Notably, Azerbaijan produced 1.554Mt of cement in 2006, with a 0.1% increase from 2005. It has been the highest indicator in Azerbaijan’s cement production history.
