Zanjan opens first cement factory, Iran

Iran’s Social Security and Welfare Minister has inaugurated the first cement factory in Zanjan province located 60km from its capital.

Zanjan Cement Factory is situated along the Soltaniyeh-Qeydar road and has launched production on a trial basis for some time, Fars reported.

The factory has an area of 40 hectares and an annual production capacity of 700,000t of cement.

Both foreign and domestic companies have cooperated in its construction. More than 350 people are now working at the plant.

Two other cement factories named Khamseh and Mahneshan are also under construction in Zanjan province.
