In the first five months of this year, cement consumption in Spain stood at 23.4Mt, up 1.67 per cent on the same period in 2006. Production rose 2.48 per cent on the first five months of 2006.  
 
Spanish cement exports fell 22.7 per cent, while imports rose 5.8 per cent in the five months to May 31 to 5.2Mt.
