Asia Cement boosting capacity in Chinese mainland

Taiwan’s Asia Cement Corp plans to build new plants to increase capacity in the Chinese mainland, said the company’s chairman Douglas Hsu.  
 
Asia Cement plans to establish a new plant in Huanggang in Central China’s Hubei Province.  
 
The plant, which is slated to begin production in September 2009, will have annual production capacity of 2Mt of cement, it said.  
 
The company’s combined capacity for cement and related products on the mainland is seen reaching 21.2Mt by 2012.  
 
Asia Cement at present has 18 units in China, which reaped CNY102m profits last year.
