Kursk Construction company to invest US$150m in cement plant

The Kursk Construction Company will invest $150m in the construction of a cement plant in the Solntsevo District of the Kursk Region (central Russia). The construction of the plant with a capacity of 1Mta  should begin in June 2007.  
 
The regional developers, who need 800,000 metric tons of cement a year, currently buy the lacking amounts in the Belgorod Region. The pace of construction has been growing recently in the region, including by 11%, to 330,000m2 of housing, in 2006.  
 
The Kursk Construction Company was set up in 2001 at the initiative of the municipal administration. Its main shareholders are KurskStroyInvest (28.54%), a private individual (21.74%), Broadcast (20.94%), and Systeminvest (20.94%).
