China cement output accelerates
Investment in China’s steel, electrolytic aluminum and cement sectors accelerated in the first four months of this year, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said. The country’s state planner said investment in the steelmaking industry rose 6.2 pct year-on-year; in the electrolytic aluminum industry it grew 48.2 pct, and in the cement sector it was up by just over 5.0 pct. The NDRC did not provide details on the actual levels of investment.
