After 100 years of presence at Chilean market, Empresas Melon to change its corporate identity and to be named Lafarge Chile.  
 
It is the end of the transition process of the brand, after the company was bought by the French group  Lafarge in June 2001.  
 
Empresas Melon has reached a sales volume of 1.4Mt of cement in 2006, with a 33.8% of the total market.
