China’s machinery makers maintain high growth

China’s cement-making machinery industry reported robust growth in production and sales, as well as exports in the 10th Five-Year Plan (2001-2005), laying a solid foundation for further development of the industry in the 11th Five-Year plan period (2006-2010).
 
According to statistics from 78 large cement machinery enterprises, they generated a total output value of 6.801 billion yuan ($US882.5 million) in 2006, increasing 31.03 per cent year on year, and sales value of 6.582 billion yuan, up 31.25 per cent.
 
China’s output of cement reached 1.24bn tonnes, including 624Mt made by new dry process, increasing 151Mt on 2005 figures. The proportion of new dry-processed cement accounted for 50.3 per cent of the total, and the comprehensive energy consumption of cement industry was 142kg standard coal, down 15 per cent over the end of 2002.
