Cimpor and builder Teixeira Duarte SA have bought a cement plant in Ukraine, in a deal that marks the entrance of the two companies into the eastern European market, Diario Economico reported. 
 
A source at the builder said that a joint venture bought 49 per cent of cement maker ’Cement’ in early 2006 and 51 per cent at the end of last year, the paper said.  
 
The plant, which is in the process of being expanded, has a capacity of 350,000tpa according to the report.
