The new unit is expected to start production in 2009. Cimpor’s objective is to boost its production capacity in Turkey by 1Mta. At present, Cimpor’s annual cement output stands at 3.5Mt in the country, where it runs three units.
Cimpor also plans to increase its overall capacity to 40Mt in 2011, from the estimated 28Mt for 2007.
