Cement plant won’t burn tires if study says not to

An official with Lafarge says the company won’t burn tires at a Nova Scotia cement plant if a study by Dalhousie University recommends against the practice.

The plant has been awarded a contract with the Resource Recovery Fund Board to collect and process the province’s used car and truck tires – about 900,000tpa.
