Currently Cementos Argos holds a market share of about 50 per cent in Colombia and is encouraged in its projections by the rising domestic demand, the increasing number of public and private projects and the overall economic stability.
In 2006 Cementos Argos was affected in its performance by the impossibility to export from its plants in Venezuela.
The company registered a considerable decrease in its profit for the year, despite its stable performance on the US and Colombian markets, which account for some 95 pct of its sales. Over half of the revenue of Cementos Argos comes from its operations in the USA.
