Cement Corp prioritises five major projects for 2010
06 February 2007

The Vietnam Cement Corporation (VCC) is working on its senior scheme to build and expand five cement plants by 2010 in an effort to add 10Mt to its annual output, said a VCC official.

The scheme partly involves the construction of three new plants, Bim Son, Binh Phuoc and Ha Tien II, with a combined annual output of 5.4Mt, said Le Van Chung, Chairman and CEO of VCC.

Also, the But Son cement factory will get a second production line and the Hoang Thach cement factory, a third production line, with annual designed capacities of 1.4Mt and 1.2Mt, respectively, he added.

Meanwhile, the already existing cement plants nationwide will be upgraded to run at their full designed capacity.

VCC will also urge its member companies to apply advanced technologies and try to ensure material and fuel supplies by partnering up with different suppliers, and also by exploiting used materials and fuels discarded from other industries.
