Unbundling of PPC might be done by June
26 January 2007

Barloworld expects to complete the unbundling of Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC), its 72 percent-owned cement and lime producer, by June and the empowerment of both entities before the end of September.

Clive Thomson, Barloworld’s chief executive, confirmed this yesterday after the group’s annual general meeting, adding that the empowerment of Barloworld and PPC would be implemented soon after PPC’s unbundling.

Thomson said Barloworld had appointed advisers to assist with the unbundling of PPC. The terms and conditions of the unbundling and the date of the general meeting of Barloworld shareholders, who would consider the unbundling, would be announced before the end of March.
