New arrivals at landfill site

Cement manufacturer Lafarge has taken delivery of two new machines which will operate at a waste disposal site. 
 
Lafarge Aggregates, whose company have a cement works at Waterhouses, near Leek, are owners of the Walley’s landfill site, on Silverdale Road, Silverdale.
 
Manufactured by Liebherr, a Swiss company, the machines represent state-of-the-art equipment which have been specifically designed for landfill sites. 
 
A Lafarge spokesman said: "These particular machines have been selected because of their proven track record in delivering excellent customer service and environmental performance. 
 
"Lafarge takes its responsibilities to the local communities around its sites very seriously and works in partnership with local liaison groups to make sure that any impact on the local community is minimised."
