Sales for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, rose by 66 per cent at Rs 231.05 crore against Rs 138.90 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal, the company said in a statement.
Dalmia Cement had recently announced plans to set up a four million tonne per annum capacity greenfield cement plant in Andhra Pradesh for an investment of Rs 1,450 crore.
The expansion, which would be funded by raising external money, would take the company’s total cement capacity to about 12Mt, it said.
