Cemex plans to enter India
08 January 2007

Financial analysts consider it positive that Mexico’s Cemex, the world’s third biggest cement maker, starts negotiations to purchase India’s cement company Deepak Cements and Chemicals. However, the company hasn’t reported about any negotiations yet. Talks between Cemex and Deepak could have started three months ago, but there wouldn’t be an agreement about the prices, according to the Indian newspaper DNA. The media said that the Chairman and CEO of the Indian company, Henmat Pandey, couldn’t be reached to make comments.
