The central province of Thua Thien-Hue on Dec. 20 granted license to Taiwan’s Luks Cement Co. Ltd to invest US$72.7m to raise capacity of its production to 2.6Mta in 2008.

The investment will bring the company’s total investment to US$171.8m.

The company currently produces 1.2Mt of cement a year after its second phase of expansion in 10 years of operation in Viet Nam.

The company’s products have been used for irrigation and transport projects in central provinces of Viet Nam and exported to Laos.
