New clinker production capacity at CEMEX´s Yaqui cement plant, Mexico

Humboldt Wedag Inc., Norcross GA, USA, a member of the KHD Humboldt Wedag Group, has been selected by CEMEX for a contract for engineering and equipment supply for a new clinker production line with a designed capacity of 3,500tpd clinker. The new production line will be installed at their Yaqui Cement plant.

Core components with KHD Humboldt Wedag technology are:
•  six-stage, single string preheater with PYROCLON® LowNOx calciner,
PYROTOP® compact mixing chamber and PYROBOX® calciner burners.
•  PYRORAPID® rotary kiln with a diameter of 4.6m and a length of 54.0m
equipped with kiln hood and tertiary air duct.

Further contracts by CEMEX for pyroprocessing lines awarded to KHD-Group in 2006 were:
•  Balcones cement plant in New Braunsfels Texas, USA:
engineering and equipment supply for a new 3,500 t/d clinker production line and coke grinding facility.
•  Broceni cement plant in Broceni, Latvia:
engineering and equipment supply for a new 3,500 t/d clinker production plant.
