CCL says expansion project is on target

CCL says expansion project is on target
15 December 2006

Officials of Caribbean Cement Company Limited (CCL) say its expansion project aimed at doubling the plant’s production capacity is on track for the scheduled mid-2008 completion.

Speaking with journalists following a tour of the plant Thursday, Project manager Ken Wiltshire said a major chunk of the civil works is far advanced with the project expected to gain momentum over the next three weeks.

Mr. Wiltshire is hoping that the project will not be hampered by bad weather and says plans are in place to mitigate the impact should there be flood rains next year.

He says while there were concerns about the recent deadly gun feud in East Kingston, this did not impact heavily on production.
