Turkey’s cement output up to 36.3Mt in Jan-Sept 2006

Turkey’s cement output increased to 36.21Mt in the first nine months of 2006 from 32.67Mt a year earlier, helped by a revival in the construction industry, the Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TCMB) said on December 11, 2006. 
 
Of the total, 10.391Mt were produced in the Marmara region, 6.542Mt in central Anatolia, 5.22Mt in the Mediterranean region, 4.5Mtin the Aegean region, 4.38Mt in the Black Sea region, 3.591Mt in southeastern Anatolia and the remaining at plants in southern Anatolia. 
 
Cement sales on the domestic market were 31.83Mt and exports stood at 4.37Mt in January to September 2006.
 
In September 2006 alone, cement production totalled 4.544Mt, as 4.064Mt were sold on the Turkish market and 459,000t were exported.
