According to the industry association Syndicat francais de l’industrie cimentiere, demand for cement in France should grow by 6 per cent in 2006, to nearly 24Mt, compared with 22.5Mt in 2005. 
 
Cement sales have been boosted since 2004 by a healthy construction and public works sector. The association has also forecast 3 per cent growth in demand for cement in 2007, due to the continuing positive outlook.
