Osmin Rendón, executive president of Mexico’s National Chamber of Cement (Canacem), said that the industry plans to close the year and the current administration with a seven per cent expansion.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that this expansion is especially due to the need of municipal, state and federal administrations to complete construction works before the end of Fox’s administration. “Everything seems to point that our industry will expand seven per cent in 2006; that is, higher than the four per cent originally expected”, the official argued.
