Turkish cement producer Akcansa booked a net profit of US$94m for the first nine months of 2006, up 49 per cent on the year, the company said on November 8, 2006. 
 
Sales went up 38 pct to US$298m and EBITDA jumped 64 per cent to US$115m. 
 
Gross profit margin stood at 35.8 per cent, EBITDA margin at 38.6 per cent and net profit margin at 31.5 per cent. 
 
Akcansa’s improved results were attributed to the steady demand for cement on the local market in the period, brokerage HSBC Yatirim.
