Romania to register double increase as against estimates

The Romanian cement market has increased over the first nine months of 2006 by 20 per cent, which is  against the value estimated at the beginning of the year, while by the end of December, the sales might reach EUR450m, accounting for approximately 7.3Mt.
 
The large number of extensive real-estate projects in Bucharest led to an increase that exceeds the average sales of cement and concrete all over Romania.
 
"This summer alone we registered an increase in deliveries in Bucharest, up by 30 percent as against the similar period of the previous year," a representative of Carpatcement Holding company said. 
 
According to him, the upward trend of the sales has also been maintained at the national level by the investments made in the big infrastructure projects, such as the devious ring roads for some big cities in this country and starting again the work on motorways. 
 
By 2010, the local construction market might reach 10 billion euros, being stimulated by the increase in the investments, as well as the increase in the price of building materials, a recent survey made by EIU informs
