Vietnam-based company Lilama 18 to build cement plant in Cambodia

Lilama 18, a subsidiary of the Vietnam Machinery Installation Corporation (Lilama), and Seam Cement Co. Ltd. signed a contract to build a cement plant in Cambodia’s Kampot province on Oct. 30.


The plant will cost US$6m and have a capacity of 1Mta of clinker. Lilama 18 also continues to bid for other contracts for building cement and electric plants in Cambodia. 


Meanwhile, Vietnamese producer Chinfon Cement Co has produced 1.2Mt of clinker and 1.8Mt of cement by the middle of October, 65,000t more than last year’s corresponding period.


The company has sold over 1.75Mt of cement, 200,000t more than in the same period last year.


The company plans to sell 2.4Mt of cement in 2006 and to keep a stable price in the market.
