Brazil’s Camargo Cimentos continues international drive

Camargo Correa Cimentos cement company is seeking opportunities abroad as a way to fulfil its plans to double size until 2012.

The acquisition of Argentina’s Loma Negra has speeded up its international drive, says superintendent Antonio Miguel Marques. The company is currently in the race for the assets of Yibitas, in Turkey, which has a capacity of 2.5Mta. North Africa is seen also a possibility, as is the strategy is to supply the European market.
