Domestic sales at 3.7Mt Jan-Sept 2006, Peru
Peruvian domestic cement sales stood at 3.7Mt for the period January to September 2006, up 9.7 per cent YoY, according to data of the local association of cement producers, Asocem.
Peruvian cement exports grew to 569,544t for the period January to September 2006, up 4.6 per cent YoY.
Domestic cement sales stood at 464,375t in September 2006 alone, against exports of 36,960t for the month.
The domestic cement sales were driven up by the higher number of public and private construction projects announced in the country, along with the state’s housing programmes Mivivienda and Techo Propio. The sales are expected to maintain its upward trend in the rest of the year. Published under Cement News
