Ukranian cement production for September

In September, the Bakhchysarai-based Budindustria factory, the largest cement producer in Crimea, increased cement production by 5.2 per cent or 2500t compared with September 2005, to 50,200t.


According to the Ukrtsement association, in September the plant increased clinker production by 3.6 per cent or 1000t to 28,500t compared with September 2005. In August, Budindustria increased cement production by 5.1 per cent or 2300t compared with August 2005, to 47,000t. In August the plant increased clinker production by 5.3 per cent or 1500t to 29,800t compared with August 2005.


In 2005, the plant increased cement production by 4.5 per cent or 21,200t compared with the year 2004, to 490,800t, and clinker production - by 5 per cent or 14,100t, to 295,100t. CJSC Budindustria operates two cement kilns with a combined nominal capacity of 517,000tpa.


According to data from the Agency for Development of the Stock Market’s Infrastructure as of 2004, the Kyiv-based Brinkford company owned 78.32 per cent of the shares in Budindustria.


In September 2006, the Dniprotsement company (Dniprodzerzhynsk, Dnipropetrovsk region) reduced cement production by 30.9 per cent or 19,500t, compared to September 2005 to 43,700t. The company reduced clinker production by 3.6 per cent or 1000t, compared to September 2005 to 26,500t.


As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in August 2006, the Dniprotsement company reduced cement production by 12.7 per cent or 8,000t, compared to August 2005 to 55,000t.


In August 2006, the company increased clinker production by 11.5 per cent or 3,100t, compared to August 2005 to 30,000t.


On January 26, 2006, Dniprotsement’s shareholders decided to join one of the five biggest producers of cement Kryvyi Rih Cement company (Dnipropetrovsk region). According to the information from the Agency for Development of the Stock Market’s Infrastructure, Heidelberg?ement presently owns 99.97 per cent of Dniprotsement’s shares via Dnipro Deutschland.


Dniprotsement, which is registered as an open joint stock company, finished 2004 with losses of UAH 13.065 m, having increased its net revenues by 44.6 per cnet or UAH 20.585mcompared with 2003, to UAH 66.733m.


In September 2006, the Dontsement company (Amvrosiivka, Donetsk region), a large cement producer, increased cement production by 66.5 per cent or 66,500t, compared to September 2005, to 157,000t. The company increased clinker production by 101.7 or 71,200t, compared to September 2005 to 141,200t.


As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in August 2006, the Dontsement company (Amvrosiivka, Donetsk region), increased cement production by 66.7 per cent or 61,800t, compared to August 2005, to 154,500t.


In August 2006, the company increased clinker production by 55.1 per cent or 52,600t, compared to August 2005 to 148,100t.


Dontsement owns six cement kilns and has a total capacity of about 2Mta of cement.


Dontsement was able to resume production after the Ukraina investment company, which is the financial recovery manager of Dontsement, purchased 75 per cent of the shares in the plant. In December Heidelberg?ement company (Germany) acquired Dontsement through its Danish affiliate office CBR Portland BV.


The company ended 2005 with a net profit of UAH 15.14m.
