Cement production in the Ukraine rose by 14.1% in August 2006 compared with the same period last year, to 1,515,000t, the State Statistics Committee has disclosed.  

However, in August, cement production fell by 0.8% to compared with July.  

In January-August, cement production rose by 9.7% compared with January-August 2005, to 8,738,000 tons.  

In July, cement production rose by 10.7% compared with July 2005, to 1,527,000t.
