Holcim unveils new clinker line, Bulgaria

A Holcim’s Bulgaria facility has modernised and relaunched a clinker line at its cement works in Beli Izvor, in North-western Bulgaria.

The EUR26.5m  upgrade boosts the daily capacity of from 1400tpd to 2,500tpd while cutting energy consumption by 15 percent.

The added capacity will position Holcim better to meet local demand which has been rising in 30 percent increments over the last couple of years.

Holcim also owns a cement plant in Pleven, Central Northern Bulgaria. The Swiss company also owns facilities for the production of quarry material and concrete mixes in Bulgaria. The company is also moving in on the local concrete market and has already acquired three facilities for the production of concrete in Southern Bulgari
