German Cement Industry sees 06 sales +4 per cent

Germany’s cement industry expects full-year sales up four per cent from 2005, helped by higher construction orders, Handelsblatt reports ahead of publication Friday, citing the president of the German association of cement makers, Andreas Kern.  

After the first seven months, the industry’s sales were four per cent higher than in the year-ago period, Kern said according to the paper.   

However, the industry’s growth isn’t sufficient yet to create new jobs, Kern said.
