Based on the Iranian government plans, the nation’s cement production will increase by 3Mta. So far, licenses have been issued for the building of a number of the cement production plants across the country, a spokesman said adding the plants are expected to annually produce 110Mt of the commodity. “We expect production to pass the current 40Mt level and hit the target 70Mt per year by the end of the nation’s Fourth Socioeconomic Development Plan”, he explained.

There are good prospects for the growth in the nation’s cement production sector, however, reaching the objectives largely depends upon the banks and the projects contractors whether from the private or public sectors, commented the MP who is also member to the Majlis Industries and Mines Commission.
