Ukraine Cement output up 8.8 per cent

Ukraine’s cement output rose by 8.8 per cent YoY to 7.223Mt in the first seven months of 2006, the State Statistics Committee said on August 16, 2006. In July alone, cement output grew by 10.7 per cent YoY and by 9.8 per cent month-on-month to 1.527Mt. The country’s cement production grew by 6.7 per cent YoY to 1.391Mt in June 2006.

Estimates of the local cement producers’ association Ukrcement showed that Ukraine’s overall cement production increased by 8.4 per cent on the year to 7.224Mt in the first seven months of 2006. The total output of the 12 companies, members of Ukrcement, climbed by eight per cent on the year to 5.815Mt from January to July 2006.

Ukraine’s overall cement production went up by 14.6 per cent YoY to 12.183Mt in 2005, according to data from the State Statistics Committee.
