The Russian-based Eurocement Group has reportedly purchased a majority stake in Ahangarancement OJSC, the second largest cement producer of Uzbekistan, Russian business daily Vedomosti reported on 21 August. Spokesmen for Eurocement presented information on the deal, which Ahangaran city administration confirmed. The report said Sergey Marchenko would be appointed as director-general of the enterprise. Previously, the main shareholders of the company were Bentonit, Uzbek-US venture, (49.9 per cent) and Zeromax (25.6 per cent). Published under Cement News
