Quality of imported cement found satisfactory, Pakistan
The quality of imported cement is up to Pakistani and British standards and the commodity is excellent for use in construction, said an official statement issued by the ministry of industries, production and special initiatives on Thursday.
The ministry said it had ordered the quality test of Cheetah Brand imported cement. The test results of Cheetah Brand imported cement show that its quality is up to British and Pakistani standards, said the statement.
According to an official, the cement manufacturers, after the imposition of ban on cement export and permission for the import of the commodity with substantial relief in freight subsidy, had raised a hue and cry about the quality of imported cement. Consequently, the ministry had the cement tested and found it exactly in accordance with the Pakistani standards.`
