Cement investigations extended, Jamaica

A two-week extension has been granted to the special team appointed to spearhead investigations into the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal of locally produced cement from the market.

The team, announced by minister of industry, commerce, science and technology Phillip Paulwell on the March 27, should have handed in its report to permanent secretary in the ministry, Dr Jean Dixon on May 5.

The ministry said the report is now expected to be handed in on May 19.
