Polysius acquires Maerz, Switzerland
Polysius has acquired Zurich-based Maerz Ofenbau AG of Switzerland strengthening the German supplier’s lime business.
Founded in 1950, Maerz Ofenbau is a leader of shaft lime kilns of which it has so far built over 450. A workforce of 43 generated sales of EUR 28min 2005.
Since 2001, Polysius has pursued a strategy of developing and marketing lime production technologies. The acquisition of Maerz Ofenbau is an ideal strategic addition to its portfolio, say Polysius, enabling it to act as a systems supplier and full-liner in the lime production market for which it offers a complete product range.
