Work starts on central Vietnam cement plant
Construction on a cement plant, with a phase 1 capacity of 1.4Mta, kicked off Monday in Phong Dien of central Thua Thien - Hue province. The Dong Lam cement plant is to be built on an area of 55 hectares, 3 km from the national roadway No.1 The VND2.2 trillion (US$164.383m) project, equipped with dry kiln technology is to come on-line in three years creating jobs for some 500 local labourers. With most of the capital credited from other international bankers, the shareholders will contribute some 23 percent of the capital while 30 per cent will be preferential loans by Investment and Development Fund.
