Key players of the cement industry here met Sunday to discuss supply of the commodity on Libyan market and implementation of new marketing plans in the sector. Chaired by Economy, Trade and Investment Minister Tayeb Saffi, the meeting was attended by the secretary of the people`s committee of the national cement company, the secretary of the Arab Cement Company and the chairman of the board of directors of the Union of Arab entrepreneurs.

The forum examined studies and analyses on marketing, distribution and unification of the price of cement as well as ways of addressing the difficulties facing cement producers in order to enable them to open new production lines to enhance their production capacities.

During the meeting, Saffi emphasized that the need to reject any cement price increases in the course of 2006, and urged managers of concerned companies to prepare analytical studies in the sector for government`s attention.
