Uzbekistan expands exports

Uzqurilishmateriallari (Uzbek Construction Materials) increased production by 54.1 per cent in 2000-2005. Uzqurilishmateriallari said production of cement increased to 5.01Mt (155.5%) and export rose from US$12.75m  to US$33.5m (263%).  
 
Uzqurilishmateriallari joint stock company was founded in 1997 and it united majority of enterprises of construction industry, including companies of cement industry, construction materials, non-order materials and others. In 2005, the company was re-organised into association and includes 87 large and mall enterprises.  
 
Akbar Muhiddinov, head of department of analysis and perspective works of Uzqurilishmateriallari, said the cement production makes up significant volume in production and export of construction materials. Uzqurilishmateriallari unites five cement plants, he said.  He said Kyzylkumcement, located in Navoi, is the largest cement producer of Uzbekistan. The capacity of the plant is 3.08Mta.
